Republicans vs. Democrats
The republicans and the democrats are the two major parties in the United States of America. The philosophy of the republicans is conservative, they also believe that everyone’s taxes should be increasing even for the wealthy and that free market should set the wages. They think that military spending should increase and they are against gay marriage. As for the abortion, they oppose the legalization of it. The red is the color that is related to this party and their symbol is the elephant. Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Richard Nixon are all republican president. (Diffen, par. 2)
The democrat is a liberal party. They are in favor of minimum wages and a progressive taxation. They are more open mind with gay marriage and abortion. Their social ideas are based on community and social responsibility, Blue is their color and the Donkey is their symbol. The courant president, Barack Obama, is a democrat. Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter were also democrats. (Diffen, par. 2)

This convention was his change to introduce himself to America. He had to make a good impression the impress American but instead he made a great impression. His presence on the stage was very unlikely being an Afro-American. However he made sure to that he was just like them. He found common ground. This speech gave a first look to his political message. It was the first time that he could show his incredible ability to speak to large groups. His speech showed hope. For the first time he brought the term politic of hope and he would be the one bring it. Without this speech, he would not be president. He spoke the truth and how he saw it and this is how he reaches out so many people on his first appearance in politics. (The Speech that Made Obama President, 2012)
