Barack obama's political views
LIBERAL
Even though Obama claimed to not being such an ideological person, Republicans laughed at it because they believed that he’s one of the most ideological and liberal chief in modern days. Liberalism means to be for equality and liberty. In an ABC News poll conduction, 45 % of respondent said that Obama was too liberal for them. The Washington Post affirm that Obama is slightly more liberal than his fellows senators but less than some his predecessors at the White House. (Cillizza,C. Washington Post, 2013, para. 1-13)
Obama is liberal in the way that he favors collective responsibility with ideas such as food stamps, welfare programs, extended unemployed benefits, guaranteed health care and other measures. Collective responsibility started with his slogan: Yes we can! During his campaign before he was elected, Obama always use the community in his speeches with the famous “we”, for him, things would work only if the collectivity is involved. Also he wants and eco-friendly energies in his country, he favors carbon taxes and higher energy prices. Barack Obama advocates a political and economical justice for his citizens. Not forget to mention, Obama is for the redistribution of wealth, as quoted here: “when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody”. From an European socialist point of view, Obama fits right in their political views and programs. But socialism isn’t seen the same way in Europe and in here. In North America, it is considered liberalism but in Europe it would be socialist. (Roderick, P. Forbes magazine 2012, para. 14-16-18)
CONSERVATIVE
An article from Michael Maiello wrote in February of 2014 supports that for the final half of his last term, president Obama would let a conservative America and his provides his article with a lot of statistics on subjects such as tax code, abortion rates, deportation of illegal immigrants. Also Americans are still going strong with their military forces, they’re not defeated on this side yet, even under the Obama administration. Plus we learned that international trade is on the rise. (Maiello, M. 2014, Esquire para. 4)
So during the mandates of Barack Obama, the rich are richer, public company profits quadrupled, the federal deficit is getting smaller, near 2 millions illegal immigrants were deported and the abortion rate drop of 13%. (Maiello, M 2014, Esquire para. 6-8-11-14-17-20)

CENTRIST DEMOCRAT
We can see that Obama is going “both ways”, he’s making liberal and conservative decisions in his mandates. He is now considered a lot like a centrist president. A research has been made to compare Obama with the six other democrat presidents since Roosevelt based on their legislation in congress. Place in order from the less to the most conservative it is giving this: Carter, Kennedy, Clinton, Truman, Johnson and Obama! The results are surprising because as said before, Obama was considered one of the most liberal presidents in modern history but Obama has been conservative on many national security and foreign policy issues. (Nazworth, N. CP politics, 2013, para. 3)
