''Cultural globalization refers to the intensification and expansion of cultural flows across the globe. Obviously, 'culture' is a very broad concept; it is frequently used to describe the whole of human experience.'' (Steger, M-B. 2008. chapter 5, par 1.) The American culture has connections with globalizations, because the United-States is a country that is created by the diversity of its population. The United-States are represented with the concept of the ''melting pot'' which is basically a heterogeneous society that is becoming or is nowadays more homogeneous. This means different cultures ''mixing'' together to create a new one that combines a little bit of all the different cultures in a harmonious way.
The American culture brings also the concept of the Americanization of the world, because the United-States is the most mediatized country around the globe. The American culture is spreading around the globe and is currently overwhelming more vulnerable cultures. The western lifestyle and values are taking over the world.
The American culture is spreading around the world on many different levels such musically (people around the globe listen to the music produced in the United-States), the American performing arts (movies and television series) and it even reaches language, since the language of business nowadays is English.
Nowadays, cultural transmission was facilitated by the new technologies such as internet. Concepts and ideas circulate more freely around than ever before such as individualism and consumerism. They are transmitted from a place to another and impact the way people live and experience their lives on an everyday basis. (Steager, M-B. 2008. chapter 5, par 3.)
